Lahr University of Applied Sciences (WHL)

Allensbach University emerged from the Lahr University of Applied Sciences (WHL). WHL was founded as part of the AKAD Group in 1996. The aim at the time was to establish the WHL as a permanent university on a par with state universities. Studies began in 1997 and until 2005 comprised the two diploma courses in Business Administration and Business Education as well as further education certificate courses related to these. From 2005, the switch was made to Master's degree courses, of which the WHL offers a total of six.

The WHL's portfolio most recently included the following degree programs:

  • Master of Business Administration in General Management (MBA)
  • Master of Business Administration in Advanced Management (MBA)
  • Master of Science Management (M.Sc.)
  • Master of Arts Finance and Banking (M.A.)
  • Master of Arts in Business Education (M.A.)
  • Master of Science Clinical Research Management (M.Sc.)

plus various further education programs, such as the compact course in management or quality and evaluation in education.

At its peak, the WHL once had just under 600 enrolled students (including continuing education certificates). The WHL was taken over by a new sponsor in 2015 and renamed Allensbach University of Applied Sciences Konstanz. The headquarters were relocated to Constance on Lake Constance. Since then, the university has pursued a digital study concept.

Information for former WHL students - Issuing replacement documents and certificates

If you studied at WHL and have lost your degree documents or need certificates of study periods, please contact this email address: studienberatung@allensbach-hochschule.de

Please provide your full first and last name (in the event of name changes, also your previous name), your student ID number, your complete current address, your degree program, and the reason for your request. If you still have scans of your certificate documents, we kindly ask you to send them as well.

Due to the high volume of requests and the effort involved in manually issuing new documents or certificates, we would like to point out that a processing fee of EUR 50 will be charged per document.

This is to be paid before the issuance of the relevant documents; in this case, you will receive an invoice from the accounting department.

The former WHL has transferred your master data, enrollment and de-registration dates, and the grades of your completed examinations to us. However, we do not have any information regarding the date or the semester in which these examinations were taken. Therefore, certificates of academic progress (Studienverlaufsbescheinigungen) cannot be issued retroactively.
