The journalist, consultant and academic publicist Prof. Dr. Patrick Peters is now teaching PR, communication and digital media at the state-recognized Allensbach University.

Patrick Peters (37) studied humanities and then completed a doctorate in journalism, worked for many years in positions of responsibility in editorial offices and has worked for many years as a freelance communications consultant and publicist. In addition, he was a lecturer at a German university for several semesters and acts as editor of scientific publications and member of several supervisory boards.

The new specialization in PR and communication management provides students with a basic overview of the most important areas of PR and communication management. As a result, they learn how to support the relevant processes in practice and how to design them themselves. The special challenges in press and public relations work, internal communication and digital communication are also taught. Students will also find particular opportunities in areas that focus on digitalization in marketing and communication. The new specialization therefore interacts closely with the long-established subjects Digital Business Management and Digital Marketing Management. Graduates of this elective subject are particularly qualified for marketing and communication-oriented specialist and management tasks in all companies and organizations for which PR and communication are part of their business. This includes, for example, cross-industry work in PR and communication departments of companies, associations, clubs and public institutions as well as corresponding consulting agencies.

Like all degree courses at Allensbach University, the PR and Communication Management specialization is completely digital. This gives working people in particular the opportunity to gain further qualifications without having to give up their job. And even in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, the degree programs are not subject to any restrictions because the digital structures have long been established.
