Business Education: General Information

Business education combines economic and pedagogical disciplines. The aim is to enable students to understand economic interrelationships and also to be able to act confidently and competently as an economic entity.

Although the focus is on the fields of business administration (BWL) and economics (ECONOMICS), the content of business education is similar to the Sozialwissenschaften very close. This is why the Wipäd Master's degree program is particularly appealing to people who want to study a social science with a strong practical focus.

Wipäd Master: Course content

If you decide to study for a Master's degree in Business Education, you will deal with topics such as Company pedagogy. The focus here is on operational learning, development and change processes. Other topics include didactics in vocational and economic education, planning and structuring lessons as well as teaching and learning issues.

In the Plinth area of the Wipäd Master's degree program, the following aspects are covered, among others:

• Quality management (QM) in educational institutions
• German education system
• Psychological foundations of learning
• Philosophical foundations of management

This is followed by the module area "Economics", in which you expand your knowledge of economics from your first degree. The programme includes empirical research methods as well as various topics relating to internationalization from an economic and business perspective.

The Wipäd Master is awarded with a Thematic focus completed. You can choose between in-company and external continuing education on the one hand and vocational training and pedagogy at vocational schools on the other. A one-week school internship at an institution of your choice is also compulsory.

To sharpen your individual profile, you can also choose one of Five specializations:

• Personnel management and organization
• External accounting and auditing
• Economics (VWL)
• Market-oriented management
• Financial management

At the end of your Wipäd Master's degree program, you will complete the Master thesis. This is an independent research project. Of course, you will be closely supervised by our lecturers - just like at a conventional university. Once you have passed all the examinations, you will receive your Master's degree. The full title of the academic degree is "Master of Arts - Business Education" (alternatively "Magister Artium").

Wipäd Master: Possible professional fields

As a holder of the Wipäd Master, you are entitled to use a Doctoral studies to take up a job. However, only very few graduates take this route. Most graduates are drawn to educational counseling, further education institutions and administrative positions after completing their studies. Commercial companies also offer vacancies for holders of the Wipäd Master's degree.
