Study operations at Allensbach University continue - thanks to digital study model

Allensbach University's online-based distance learning model does not require compulsory attendance - a major advantage in the current situation.

There are no empty lecture halls at Allensbach University - the lectures take place online and allow a (secure) interactive exchange between students and lecturers. Students who are unable to attend live have the opportunity to work with video recordings at any time. These are available in the online learning system, as are all teaching and exercise materials. If you have any questions, the module supervisors are available by email or telephone. This allows students to learn autonomously and at their own pace.

Examinations can take the form of homework and seminar papers, portfolio assignments, oral examinations or written examinations. The latter usually take place at local examination centers throughout Germany. If the coronavirus crisis does not ease by the next examination date, alternative forms of examination will be made available so that students at Allensbach University are not delayed in their studies. Allensbach University is already working on appropriate solutions. Some of these are already in use, e.g. in the case of unclear illnesses of family members. In these cases, Allensbach University has already advised against participation in the last examination dates in order not to endanger the other students and the examination supervisor.

The staff and teaching staff at Allensbach University are used to working together digitally, so there is no need to worry about interruptions to teaching. "The digital exchange practiced so far will also continue in academic self-administration, which will continue to function smoothly even in times of crisis," says the university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Martin Reckenfelderbäumer. "Topic discussions on term papers and theses usually take place by telephone, so we can continue to support our students here without any problems," says the Head of the Examination Board, Prof. Dr. Sonja Keppler.

Allensbach University in Constance is a state-recognized university in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg and offers various part-time Bachelor's and Master's programmes in the field of economics. The target group are working professionals who are looking for a flexible study model without the need for physical attendance.

For questions from teachers and students on the topic of the coronavirus, Ms. Prof. Dr. Sonja Keppler is available as a contact person.
